One of the most adventurous activities to participate in is Outward Bound School Singapore (OBS). OBS was started in 1971. It has since been renamed Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and is managed by the People’s Association. The aim of OBS is to “offer Singapore's young people exciting activities to develop their physical and mental ruggedness, personal confidence and leadership qualities."

OBS has grown from humble beginnings as a training facility to an exceptional and unique training and consultation centre for people from all walks of life. They have programmes ranging from basic pre-teen student courses to interactive corporate programmes for professional executives, ensuring a course suitable for anyone and everyone.

For all OBS courses, each activity is planned, tested and fully supervised by qualified full-time instructors. Every trainer is also equipped with the sufficient skills and knowledge to ensure participants’ safety. All equipment used is regularly and thoroughly inspected by internal and external certifying bodies to ensure that safety standards are strictly adhered to. In the event of an emergency, there is a 24-hour medical centre with a team of specially trained nurses. All participants are also trained in basic safety procedures to ensure overall safety and the confidence to enjoy their courses.

The Outward Bound Singapore is situated at two locations in Singapore, namely at Pulau Ubin, an island off the north eastern coast of Singapore, and East Coast Park. Currently, a third of Pulau Ubin is being used for training on rugged terrains and a quick accessibility to the sea. Some of the state of the art facilities on Ubin include the Peak Ascent Tower, Tunnelling and Caving System, Inverse and Tripod Towers, rock climbing walls, dormitories, learning rooms and even a half-Olympic sized swimming pool for kayak practices. The facilities found at our East Coast campus includes a Multi-Element Tower, Tunnel/Caving/Maze System, Challenge Ropes Courses, tree hut dormitories, rock-climbing walls and learning rooms.
